Did you know that you can give specifically to the mission we support by text message?
I read this today off the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission website (www.nwhcm.org) and I wanted to pass it along to you because I know many of you want to make sure that what you give goes directly to the relief effort. Here is a way you can know your investment in Haiti will reach those in need.
Here it is…
1) Text the message “Support NWHCM” to the number 20222.* Capitalization does not matter, but spelling does.
2) To confirm your donation, text the word “YES” when prompted to do so.
A one-time donation of $5 will be added to your bill or deducted from your prepaid balance and will go directly to the work of NWHCM.
Click here to read the details as shown on their website.

I know so many of you are wondering the same question when you see the devastation and the tragedy in Haiti that has hit so close to home for us .
Although I wish I could put us in the middle of that city to do all we could, the fact is that we would probably be in the way more than anything. Right now is a time for the medical teams and the aid workers. But there is something you can do. We need your help to get these supplies boxed up and driven to Frankfort so they can be moved to Haiti.
We need your help every Wednesday (starting tonight, Jan 20) from 5-6pm to pack up the boxes and then we need people willing to drive the boxes to the warehouse in Frankfort for shipping to those who need it.
John 13:34-35…” A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” This is how you can help. This is how you can love the Haitian people…

I, like many of you, have been so stirred by the events going on in the country of Haiti. Having been there on a couple of occasions, it brings it that much closer to home for me.
In a place where death is a daily issue, it seems that the impossible has happened. Even these seasoned survivors are left with with an even greater sense of hopelessness and despair.
Make no mistake, this event is one where God has been and will be active. His people will demonstrate His perfect love and light will shine in a very dark place.
Be active. Please get involved. Pray, Give. Visit www.nwhcm.org. Ask God to break your heart with what breaks His…
