Change for Change
We are in a season of change, make no mistake about it. The life of our church has led us to the place where we believe God has called us to shift our thinking and step out in faith. He has called us to do an uncomfortable and sometimes unpopular thing; change. Nothing seems to stir things up in any organization quite like change does. By nature, we don’t like change. It’s unfamiliar and causes us to face uncertainty.
An ancient philosopher, Heraclitus said “Nothing endures but change.” It’s all around us.
What I have learned is that the Kingdom of God is always moving forward and that movement is often cloaked and labeled as “change”. In fact, Matthew wrote it this way ”…From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” The power and significance of the Kingdom never changes but it is constantly moving.
That’s what my hope is for this season of life at our church. That it would be viewed, not as a change, but as a method to move the Kingdom forward. Believe me when I say that this change isn’t easy for any of us. It will involve more work, more sacrifice, more teachers, more greeters, more musicians, more tech specialists, more planning and more communication, but I can’t tell you how excited I am for this church to be a part of the movement of God’s Kingdom. My friends, it’s the most powerful thing on earth… The kingdom is moving and advancing and we are a part of it! Let’s shift our perspective from things “changing” to things “moving”.
Will you join me in this movement?

Absolutely! Our God is always moving isn’t He! We move with Him or get left behind. Unthinkable!!

I’m totally on board. I’m so excited to see how God has changed so many hearts. All I prayed for yesterday was UNITY!! How important is that to the life of God’s Church? How important is it to you?

Remember the little engine: “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can?” With the help of God and his great love, all the little engines out there will be able to move forward with a force that will move mountains! Keep chugging along little engines and watch those mountains move!

I’m definitely on board!!It’s never easy to change no matter where it happens. It’s going to require a lot from all of us, but as we make this change at BACC we must remember to keep our eyes on the prize– Jesus and Heaven!!!!!
