“We aren’t a cruiseship, We are a battleship…” The words had only been off my lips for a few seconds before I realized it would elicit a fight, and let me tell you that it didn’t take long for me to see it. It’s not the kind of fight you may be thinking of, but rather one that is not seen with human eyes. Whenever you begin to call people to fight and join a cause for the Kingdom, you might as well put a big target on your back. Our enemy will do whatever he can to derail our quest to build bridges and turn on lights.
I’m reminded of the scripture that says “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world”. Let’s keep fighting…

When I began to think and chew on this series 30 days to live, I had no idea how real it would become. It seems that the reality that life is but a vapor and never has it been more illustrated and raw to me than in the last 2 weeks.
I have had different encounters with people who are fighting a terminal diagnosis and I can’t tell you how much life I see in them. Not the kind of life that means your heart is still beating, but life that is produced by our God. A life that is measured, not in years or accomplishments, but rather in lives touched and impacted. I see in them the epitome of strength through the storm. I see in them a peace that can only come from knowing the God of gods and it completely challenges me to have that kind of total trust in my own life. Thanks for sharing your lives with us… Thanks for sharpening me…

I have to say, I honestly couldn’t believe it at first. In fact, had you told me that I would see what I saw, i would haven’t believed you. Last evening we had over 400 people attend a picnic! Are you serious?? a Picnic??? I wasn’t sure what had been circulated but perhaps the rumor got started that we are giving away some giant TV or a car. Nevertheless, they were there, and they came with their potato salad and their corn-hole boards. They came with casseroles and fried chicken, but more importantly they came with an unparalleled spirit of community and hungry for more.
God is weaving us together even before our very eyes… I’m just glad to be apart of it… what about you?
